Lin Yan, a cook on Zhongnan Mountain, takes in ancient mighty beings such as Zhu Rong, Xing Tian, Dayu, Daji, and Taotie. His little restaurant hides mysterious secrets, and even the Moon Rabbit follows him because of his merit-infused radishes. The greedy Kunlun Immortal Sect comes to attack but is easily driven away by his companions. When the Heavenly Court fails to recruit them, it sends heavenly soldiers to surround and suppress them, capturing the mighty beings. Lin Yan uses golden light of merit to rescue everyone, helping Sun Wukong remove his golden headband. The Jade Emperor releases the Demon Emperor Dijun in an attempt to turn the tables, only to be devoured by his own scheme. Lin Yan attains sainthood through the culinary Dao and defeats Dijun. In the end, Lin Yan refuses the position of ruler of the Three Realms and chooses to remain in his little restaurant, living peacefully with everyone.
