To avenge her father, Su Buwan (Chen Yue) disguised herself as a Yueju opera performer to approach her father's killer, Gu Shijin, the second young master of the Gu family. Almost plotted against, she accidentally met the resentful eldest young master of the Gu family, Gu Jingshen; holding each other's chips in hand, the two formed a revenge alliance. Su Buwan maneuvered inside the Gu family, developing mutual romantic feelings with Gu Jingshen amidst probing and utilization. The Gu family elders fabricated a false bloodline illusion to break up the two; under heavy crises, the music box revealed the mystery of their birth backgrounds, and the evidence of crimes was subsequently exposed. All the enemies fell into the net; after going through life-and-death tribulations, Gu Jingshen abandoned his family surname, married Su Buwan and had a daughter, letting go of hatred to reap true love and a peaceful life.
