Shen Qinghe, a young woman from a waterside village, makes her living catching fish in a cold pool. However, local fishmongers repeatedly squeeze her out and force her to accept low prices. Unwilling to remain at the mercy of the docks, she changes her approach and begins delivering live fish directly to customers in the streets and alleys, earning the appreciation of the neighborhood. Overcoming obstacles along the waterways, she remains committed to keeping her fish fresh and alive, eventually securing a supply deal with Wangshui Tower. Along the way, she meets a helper named Xie Liu, and together they expand their fish delivery business. Despite deliberate attempts by competitors to make things difficult for her, Shen Qinghe relies on practicality and perseverance to carve out her own livelihood in the waterside town.
