In 1996, in Linjiang, designer Shen Mingzhu reunites with her biological parents on the day of her engagement. To protect them, she resolutely calls off the engagement and quits her job, only to face a complete industry-wide blacklist imposed by the Zhou family. She struggles to build a business with her parents using nothing but an old sewing machine, while enduring one scheme after another: her designs are stolen, her fabrics are ruined by mold, and her factory is deliberately set on fire. Undeterred, she enters a competition with her creations, rising from the ashes and exposing the truth in front of everyone: her parents are actually the chairman and chairwoman of Huajin Group. The mastermind behind the schemes, her uncle Shen Chengye, is eventually arrested. Once the turmoil subsides, the family reunites and their business finally gains a firm foothold.
