When the doomsday virus breaks out, Pei Yaoyao and her five-year-old son Pei Xiaoche mutate into zombies who retain clear consciousness, while also hiding the zombie king bloodline capable of commanding hordes of zombies within their bodies. The child's biological father, Fu Shuo, has become the safety zone's executioner who slaughters zombies like hemp, executing any zombie he sees. To save her life and hide her child's identity, Pei Yaoyao takes Xiaoche and a newly acquainted, motor-mouthed, nagging zombie cat named Dawang to flee everywhere, dodging the child's own father's full-region manhunt in all sorts of fancy ways, triggering a series of comical blunders along the way.
