In the winter of 1984, Lin Shoushan, a hunter from Mountain Village, unexpectedly dies, leaving behind his frail wife, a son and daughter, and a property deed that has been mortgaged. Taking advantage of the situation, Lin Shoufu, Lin Shoushan's elder brother, seizes the Lin family's last remaining food supplies and hunting bow, intending to keep the Lin family's courtyard for his son, Lin Guoqiang, to run a mountain produce business. To protect his mother and younger sister, Lin Qinghe has no choice but to take an old hunting knife and a slingshot into the mountains. Unexpectedly, after subduing his first prey, he unlocks the ability to obtain supply chests. The stronger the prey, the richer the supplies. He can also improve his strength, speed, physique, perception, tracking skills, archery, and other abilities.
