After a great battle, Su Yun, the Divine Lord of the Han Palace, was struck by a strange poison. He concealed his identity and disguised himself as an ordinary chef. After a mix-up at a blind date, he and wealthy heiress Chen Jiayi agreed to a fake marriage to deal with her family's pressure to marry. To resist an arranged marriage, Chen Jiayi falsely claimed that Su Yun was the Divine Lord of the Han Palace. At the Chen family's birthday banquet and the Banquet of Kings, Su Yun repeatedly bluffed his way through using tokens and fortunate coincidences. To intimidate foreign enemies, Liu Rumeng simply let him continue the act. As various forces repeatedly tested him, rebels attempted to seize power during the investiture ceremony. Su Yun revealed his true identity, quelled the rebellion, and repelled the enemy without fighting. In the end, he confessed his feelings to Chen Jiayi.
