Liu Haitang, a top modern doctor specializing in both Chinese and Western medicine, unexpectedly travels through time into the body of Liu Haitang, the daughter of the prime minister of the Shen Kingdom. The original owner of the body was deeply infatuated with Prince Jing, Shen Jingchuan. After being treated coldly on her wedding day, she despairingly took her own life, only to be awakened by a modern soul. With her superb medical skills and sharp mind, Liu Haitang abandons her former weakness and upholds the dignity of the principal wife, cleverly overcoming the challenges posed by the secondary consort. She also treats the Grand Princess, Prince Li, and many others, while clearing her family of years of wrongful accusations. She exposes conspiracies, punishes treacherous officials, and opens a medical clinic to help ordinary people, challenging prejudice against women practicing medicine. Shen Jingchuan gradually becomes attracted to her, and the two join forces to quell a rebellion and protect their country. In the end, they find true love, and Liu Haitang fulfills her dream of practicing medicine to save lives.
