Xiao Yue was originally a great general of the Qing State. At a banquet, he was poisoned by treacherous officials in league with Beiman, but unexpectedly traveled through time to the modern era. One year later, Xiao Yue received a delivery and found it to be a huge sandbox. Inside the sandbox, Xiao Yue saw the Qing State, and also saw the former Li Yunwan. Noodles that accidentally fell into the sandbox made Xiao Yue realize that he could change and manipulate everything in the Qing State through the sandbox. Therefore, he helped Li Yunwan get through the famine, and secretly assisted Li Yunwan in defeating Beiman, rescuing Li Yunwan from danger. Beiman sent envoys to the Qing State to compete in martial arts with the Qing soldiers, and Xiao Yue secretly helped, winning the competition for the Qing State.
