In a coastal fishing village in the 1980s, ordinary fisherman Lin Yuanyang is set up by his relatives and falls into danger. His family's livelihood and property are also coveted by others. The White Dragon, whom he saved years ago, arrives to repay his kindness and grants him the ability to control water. Returning home, Lin Yuanyang uses his supernatural power to catch seafood and build a business, establishing aquaculture farms and a deep-water port. He contends with the Zhao family, a seafood trading clan, uncovers the secrets behind his father's fatal maritime accident, and faces fierce business and sea battles. In the end, he protects his wife and daughter, leads his fellow villagers to prosperity, and sails into the open ocean aboard a giant ship built in memory of his father.
