Li Yang, a disciple of Crane Cry Peak of the Xuantian Sword Sect, is an anomaly in the cultivation world. He does not cultivate worldly affection or conventional morality. He follows only the sword path in his heart, believing that demons and evil must be eradicated. Even at the Qi Refining stage, he has forged an unparalleled sword heart, and his murderous sword intent strikes terror into demons and monsters. When the demoness Shen Lu'er invades the Xuantian Sword Sect and slaughters fellow disciples, Li Yang ignores the sect's orders to negotiate an exchange of benefits and insists on killing her. His actions infuriate the Six Desires Demon Venerable, bringing the entire sect to the brink of annihilation. His master, Lu Feng, cherishes his extraordinary talent and spares him severe punishment, instead sending Li Yang and his senior sister Ning Xinyao to Yongning Commandery to investigate the demonic calamities.
