Landlord Zheng Youcai grows jealous of the restaurant's booming business and forces owner Xu Xiangnan to raise the rent. Xu Xiangnan simply transfers the shop to him and stays on as a chef on a salary. Zheng Youcai thinks he has picked up a cash cow, only to stumble in procurement, staffing, and customer service, while even his only daughter falls in love with Xu Xiangnan. At the wedding, the emcee announces that the dowry is none other than the restaurant storefront itself, and Zheng Youcai asks in tears, "My storefront, just in exchange for your meal card?"
