Liuquan Village welcomes a water supply project, but fruit farmer Ma Xiulan misses the opportunity to connect to the water due to stubbornness and pride. As bitter winter arrives, the old well hits rock bottom, strawberries are damaged, and her children fall into hardship. An unexpected fire lets her witness the warmth of neighbors watching out for and helping one another, finally making her face her own faults. Accompanied by her family, she lets go of her obsession, digs the trench and connects the water with her own hands, takes responsibility through action, and rebuilds trust. When clear water bypasses the old well and flows into the greenhouses, the family, amidst understanding and responsibility, welcomes the hope of starting anew.
