Three days before the wedding, Jiang Nian accidentally discovers that her fiancé Shen Yanchi, best friend Ruan Linglong, older brother, and childhood friend have spent five years playing pranks on her by faking terminal illnesses and seizing her quotas and properties, and that the fake wedding is also a trap. Heartbroken, Jiang Nian gives up the wedding and goes abroad, leaving the house transferred to Ruan Linglong to her with debts attached. Years later, Jiang Nian returns to China for business and runs into a down-and-out, decadent Shen Yanchi. He desperately tries to win her back, but Jiang Nian publicly exposes all the pranks from back then and slaps Shen Yanchi. As everyone rushes over to apologize, Jiang Nian resolutely refuses to forgive and leaves alone, completely cutting off all entanglements and ending this absurd prank game played at her expense.
