Shen Yu, the legitimate daughter of the Zhenbei Marquis Manor, returns to the northern frontier with Prince Jing, Xiao Jue, after an absence of fifteen years. Inside the military camp, Shen Yu gets to know the female general Han Shuang through a martial arts sparring match, gradually gathering the old forces of the Shen family. The second prince colludes with Mobei, attempting to create chaos using foreign troops. Shen Yu investigates the news and unexpectedly learns that her childhood friend Qi Feng is now an envoy of Mobei. Disregarding the risks, she attends the meeting and, using past affection and a personal letter from the marquis, persuades Qi Feng to secretly delay the Mobei army. Xiao Jue deploys the troops and formations, and together everyone defeats the rebels. As the great battle concludes with a bonfire celebration, the two untangle the long-standing knot of their past over the jade pendant.
