Lin Yuan, a useless cultivator, is expelled from his sect. By chance, he awakens a treasure-hunting compass and uses various fortuitous opportunities to cleanse his meridians, refine pills, and steadily advance to Foundation Establishment. Su Qinghan, a Golden Core cultivator, pursues a stolen treasure. During their confrontation, they accidentally activate an ancient secret-realm teleportation array and are forced to join forces to break a blood-sacrifice formation and obtain an artificially created supreme-grade spiritual root. After his spiritual root undergoes a perfect transformation, Lin Yuan takes Su Qinghan as his master and sets off for the Central Province with his compass to seek even greater opportunities.
