Reborn in 1978 in the forest region of Northeast China, Wang Teng opens his eyes only to discover a trap set by Zhang Yuanying, Zhang Yuanqing, and Xu Qian, who have staged a scandal involving him getting into a woman's bed. He beats up those responsible and draws on his past life's hunting experience to venture into the mountains, set traps, hunt wolves, and take down bears. He also learns medicine from Old Madam Lü and becomes her sworn grandson. Transforming from a notorious loafer into the formidable 'Little Wang Cannon,' he protects his elder sister, opens a restaurant, trades in animal pelts, and builds a network of connections with Chen Hongwei, Wang Yan, and others. Battling wicked neighbors and avoiding schemes, he gradually builds his fortune and changes his destiny amid everyday family squabbles and the vast snowy forests.
