Prince Jin, Xiao Chengjin, hides his mistress Liu'er by tricking his principal consort, Lin Wanrou, into pretending to be pregnant, intending for her to raise his illegitimate child. After discovering their affair and seeing through their schemes, Lin Wanrou resolutely requests an imperial decree granting their divorce. Xiao Chengjin and Liu'er secretly collude with an enemy state in the south and lay multiple traps to harm her. Lin Wanrou meets Rong Yu, a prince of Northern Xinjiang, and gathers all the evidence of their treason, exposing their conspiracy. Xiao Chengjin is sentenced to beheading, while Liu'er is exiled. Lin Wanrou travels to the grasslands with Rong Yu, uses her wisdom to resolve tribal conflicts, and ultimately becomes the one and only queen of Northern Xinjiang.
