Laundry maid Su Jinli is born with the ability to see human hearts take physical form, entering the emperor's sight due to a single truthful remark. She grows from a humble palace maid into an outspoken noble consort, coming to know the cold-faced monarch Xiao Yan through testing, and protecting one another through the winds and waves. Facing the contrast in status and emotional tug-of-war, she chooses sincerity and responsibility, ultimately bringing sealed past events back to light and harvesting the gentle mutual guardianship of watching koi fish together side by side.
