Xu Junya, a divorced single mother, temporarily moves into her own apartment building with her daughter, Niannian. After finding scraps of toilet paper in the communal washing machine, she kindly reminds a tenant, Zhou Juan, to check her pockets before doing laundry. Instead of appreciating the warning, Zhou Juan viciously insults and retaliates against her. Having reached her breaking point, Xu Junya rents out the entire building to someone else at a high price and orders all the tenants to move out by a strict deadline. Only then does Zhou Juan discover that Xu Junya is actually the landlord, leaving her overwhelmed with regret.
