A poor boy whose parents were bitten to death by a great family's fire lion, with only three cash paid in compensation. Unable to afford a rat egg after saving for three years, he instead picked up a black egg that hatched an ink ball—capable of devouring beast breath and turning it to his own use. On the spirit-testing stone there was neither light nor spirituality, and everyone mocked him as waste. He brought the ink ball into the county school, devoured the fire lion, learned the heavy tread, spat flames, and slapped the faces of great families all the way. Poverty is not a crime, but cowardice is. His sword is the poor people's only sword.
