My childhood friend, Liu Jianjun, was jealous that my family's convenience store was doing so well. He pretended to be ill and spread rumors that I was selling expired food, forcing me to issue refunds and close the shop. He then threw a lavish banquet, drawing the entire village to the feast and causing everyone to miss the blizzard warning. After hearing the warning, I spent the night stockpiling supplies and setting up a steel-wire electric fence. The blizzard sealed off the mountain for fifteen days. With temperatures dropping below minus 30 degrees Celsius, the village lost its water and electricity, and the villagers suffered from freezing cold and hunger. Only my family's store had ample supplies and remained warm and safe.
