Out of kindness, Wen Nian spent years paying her boyfriend Zhou Shichuan's grandfather's medical expenses. Little did she know that everything was a scheme orchestrated by Zhou Shichuan and his mistress, Lin Qingqing. The two conspired to steal all her money, frame her as a gold-digging woman, and subject her to public condemnation. She eventually ended up as a beggar and died with bitter resentment, only to be reborn before the tragedy ever happened. After her rebirth, Wen Nian happens to catch Zhou Shichuan and Lin Qingqing having an affair and discussing their plan to swindle her out of her money and frame her. She decisively records a video as evidence and later hires a private investigator to look into their financial transactions and gather further proof.
