Wu Yue, a down-on-his-luck second-generation rich kid from Star City whose family fortunes have fallen, ends up as a bottom-tier stone picker in the Hpakan mining area of Myitkyina. During a rainstorm and pit collapse, his palm's blood stains an imperial green jade core, accidentally awakening three heaven-defying abilities: a portable space in his left hand that can store all things, an appraisal superpower to sense the temperature (cold and hot) and quality of raw stones by touch, and an absolute defense that can devour all attacks. Just as he obtains his powers, Wu Yue is mobbed by peers fighting over the raw stones. Using his space to hide the stone core and muddle through, and after recognizing the survival law of the jungle in the mining area, he wins over the honest bottom-tier stone picker Ko Dan Wei as his confidant. Relying on his temperature superpower to crazily pick up leaks in waste slag and morning markets, he earns his first pot of gold through ice-species jadeite.
