Shen Shuyi, chairwoman of the Shen Group, forcefully protected the engagement between her younger brother Shen Jinyu and Su Ruoxi, but encountered interference from the scheming woman Sang Li. Sang Li schemed to approach Shen Jinyu, provoked Shen Shuyi, destroyed a family heirloom, and also exposed Shen Jinyu's crimes such as misappropriating public funds while blackmailing the Shen family. Shen Shuyi joined hands with Su Ruoxi to present evidence and counterattack, exposing Sang Li's "hero saves beauty" scam. Sang Li's crimes were ultimately exposed and she was arrested. Shen Jinyu came to his senses and surrendered, Su Ruoxi called off the engagement, and she decided to raise the child alone.
