Ye Mingying, the courtesan of Wanhua Pavilion, bitterly saved up her redemption money for ten years, but on the night before her redemption, she was robbed clean by the Imperial Concubine Rong Zhaoyue disguised as a chivalrous woman, branded and her head shaved, and abandoned at a temple. Three years later, she splashed porridge and disfigured herself, was pierced by ten thousand arrows, yet reborn back to the day before her redemption. This time she no longer escapes—the treasure chest remains in the room, thugs lie in ambush, and the token is quietly swapped. When Rong Zhaoyue breaks through the window once again, waiting for her is the deepest lamp fire of the pavilion.
