To save her master, Sang Xiaoman leaves the mountains for the first time and embarks on a journey to find the Five Spirit Pearls. Strong and kind-hearted, she knows nothing about the world beyond the mountains. Along the way, she earns the help of a kind-hearted shopkeeper with a piece of dried fruit, befriends a gentle giant beast with a packet of dried meat, and even saves a prince in distress through an unintentional act. She only wants to find the spirit pearls and return home, unaware that every little item she carries conceals a secret powerful enough to shake the world.
