Xiao Jingchen, a general of the Great Song Dynasty, dies in battle and awakens to find himself reborn as Shen Chen, the son-in-law of a wealthy family in the world of football. His wife is humiliated, his father-in-law is tragically killed, the family fortune is stolen, and the team is on the verge of disbanding. When their rivals arrive to provoke them, Shen Chen steps onto the field in their hour of crisis, facing the scorn and ridicule of the Su family. With his ancient Cuju skills—the Flowing Cloud Step to dribble past opponents, the Mandarin Duck Kick to shoot, and a thunderous, furious strike to score the winning goal—he brings long-lost football techniques back to the modern pitch. Overcoming every obstacle, he tramples one prestigious team after another. Finally, he scores a hat trick to overturn the Asian champions, transforming from a worthless son-in-law into the hottest football superstar and making the whole world see Chinese football in a new light.
