Gu Nian spent five years pouring her savings into supporting her boyfriend, Lu Chen, covering tens of millions in expenses to help him build a company and take it public. During a company team-building event, intern secretary Su Yao embezzles the event budget and makes extravagant purchases, then falsely accuses Gu Nian of misappropriating company funds. Lu Chen believes the lies, publicly humiliates and fires Gu Nian, and demands that she repay the money. When the yacht catches fire, he abandons Gu Nian to save Su Yao. At the critical moment, the butler appears, respectfully bowing and addressing her as Miss Gu.
