Eight years ago, Chen Sheng was murdered by his fiancée and pushed off a cliff, but miraculously survived. After lying low for eight years, he returns under the assumed name Shen Mo, accompanying a newly appointed county magistrate. Just two days after the magistrate takes office, a murder case emerges. Shen Mo investigates step by step, confronting arrogant local tyrants and exposing a conspiracy to silence witnesses through murder. Ambushed in a narrow alley and lured into a deadly trap at the cliff, he fights his way through a bloody battle single-handedly. Finally, with irrefutable evidence presented in court, he personally kills his sworn enemy and settles the blood feud of eight years. From that day on, the martial world knows no more Chen Sheng, only the Cold Blade, Shen Mo.
