A construction foreman has spent years leading teams of workers. He has repeatedly paid out of his own pocket for their medical expenses and emergency needs, even taking out risky loans at exorbitant interest rates to ensure everyone gets paid. However, when the workers discover that 20 yuan is being deducted from their daily wages, they mistakenly believe he has been exploiting them to amass a fortune. Determined to bypass him and work directly with a new boss, they all turn against him. Only one young man, who remembers that the foreman once saved his family, stands by him without fear of ridicule and firmly chooses to follow him despite his sudden downfall.
