A double catastrophe strikes as extreme heat and a zombie virus sweep across the world. The shelter built by Lin Yue, a chemistry PhD, is seized through a conspiracy between her fiancé and her best friend, forcing her to seek another way to survive with her sick mother and younger sister. Drawing on her professional expertise, Lin Yue frantically stockpiles supplies and prepares equipment. Using self-developed technologies such as water production through electrolysis and hydroponic farming, she manages to survive safely in a hidden cave dwelling. Meanwhile, the traitors squander their resources, repeatedly cause trouble, and ultimately suffer the consequences of their own actions. Lin Yue joins forces with allies from all walks of life to establish the Ark Base, growing stronger with every challenge. Just as the base begins to take shape, the scorching heat suddenly recedes, and an extreme cold crisis descends without warning.
