Lin Qinghe, the legitimate daughter of a general, eagerly awaits her wedding, only to discover on the very day of her marriage that her fiancé, Yang Shiyan, is marrying her adoptive younger sister, Lin Wantang. All his promises from the past are cast aside, and Yang Shiyan forces the pregnant heroine to lower herself to the status of a concubine. Lin Wantang openly reveals the truth: the two have joined forces to forge letters falsely implicating the general's household in colluding with the enemy and plotting treason. As a result, the heroine's father and brothers are unjustly killed on the battlefield. Betrayed by her family’s wrongful persecution, a fraudulent engagement, and the adoptive sister she devoted herself to caring for, the heroine is driven into utter despair and swears an oath of revenge upon being reborn.
