In 1995, Zhang Shuisheng, a wayward young man from Dongwan Village, dies in a maritime accident but unexpectedly reincarnates and becomes bound to a rare catch system. To save his mother, repay debts, and make amends to his beloved Liu Xiaoxia, he uses his past life's experience to catch large yellow croakers, giant groupers, and bluefin tuna. From being the laughingstock of the entire village, he grows into the young Fishing King. He defeats the boat tyrant Wang Kun and dock manager Xu Yuanqian, buys an ocean-going steel-hulled fishing vessel, helps bring a deep-water port to the village, and wins back his family's affection, his love, and his dignity.
