On the night of the Qixi Festival, Qu Jinyan, the legitimate daughter of the prime minister, was pushed into the river by Prince Yong and Liu Yunyun acting together, but she executed a desperate counter-kill and kicked them both into the water. After this, Liu Yunyun and Consort Wu repeatedly laid poisonous schemes—spreading rumors to smear her, forging letters to drive the Lin family lover to death, and forging treasonous letters communicating with foreign enemies in an attempt to annihilate the entire prime minister's estate. Qu Jinyan calmly saw through them and reverse-fished, while Prince Jing Yuan Chen protected his wife all the way. Above the court, Prince Yong's forgery suffered an on-the-spot social death, the evil faction collapsed apart, and Qu Jinyan finally won the bestowed marriage to Prince Jing, ending in perfection.
