Chen Jianguo and his elder brother, Chen Jianjun, started a factory from scratch and ran it together for ten years. When the factory finally turned a profit, Chen Jianjun pocketed all 4.86 million yuan, giving Chen Jianguo just one yuan and insulting him as a lousy machine repairman. After resigning, Chen Jianguo was hired by Mingyang Technology as a chief technical consultant at a high salary. Thanks to his outstanding technical expertise, he was also appointed an external expert by the Municipal Administration of Work Safety. When Chen Jianjun's factory suffers an explosion after buying substandard machinery to save money, leaving workers seriously injured, he begs Chen Jianguo to show mercy but is refused and ultimately sentenced to prison. Chen Jianguo then leads a team to expose a 120-million-yuan black market supply chain for inferior equipment, earns provincial recognition, and eventually reconciles with his brother.
