Zhou Jianmin, a foreman and bricklayer at a construction site, refuses to tolerate unscrupulous food vendor Jiang Hongtao's use of spoiled meat and recycled gutter oil to cheat workers. He overturns the table in public and cuts off the food supply. Together with his fellow workers, he supports the owner of a small restaurant at the alley entrance and introduces strict rules, including transparent food sample retention, ingredient traceability, and staggered meal service. He takes on Jiang Hongtao and Ma Qing, who collude with the project management team. Jiang repeatedly sends people to smash refrigerated cabinets, poison food, and fabricate reports, but Zhou exposes every scheme. Eventually, Han Zheng intervenes as a member of the group's investigation team. Jiang is removed from the project and prosecuted, Ma Qing is suspended, and Xu Guilan wins the long-term catering contract. The sample-retention cabinet becomes an institutional model that workers themselves lock and inspect, ensuring that construction workers finally get clean meals.
