Liang Xin, a fabric designer who has returned to her hometown, comes back to Langchou Village and faces a declining old gambiered silk workshop and piles of discarded traditional gambiered silk. Determined to restore this intangible cultural heritage craft, she sets out to revive the ancient art. At first, Master Liang, an experienced artisan, is skeptical of her plans. Livestreams attract little attention, and torrential rain damages their materials. Faced with these setbacks, the entire village joins forces. Using discarded wooden barrels, shuliang roots, and old fabrics, the villagers transform an abandoned primary school into a restoration workshop and organize dyeing and finishing experience classes. After repeated testing and refinement, the Gambiered Silk Sun-Drying Night Festival finally opens successfully. The old silk regains its brilliance, young people return to their hometown, and children take part in passing down the craft. Together, they establish a sustainable recycling system for traditional gambiered silk, breathing new life into this ancient art in the mountain village.
