Boxing champion Lin Hao is conspired against by his wife Liu Tingting and childhood friend Wang Qiang, who drug him and trick him into signing a life-and-death pact with the intent to murder him for his wealth. After discovering their illicit affair, he pretends to stay ignorant and plays along—selling the boxing gym, gathering evidence, returning to the club for rigorous training, and setting a counter-trap to make the two sign a Macau-style life-and-death pact and divorce agreement. On the night of the boxing match, the two borrow usurious loans to bet on his loss and tamper with his water cup, but Lin Hao has long since switched the medicine pouches, growing stronger with every fight in peak condition. Wang Qiang, who steps into the ring last, signs the true life-and-death pact, and Lin Hao shatters his dream with a single punch. In the end, Wang Qiang is hounded by debt collectors, and Liu Tingting goes to prison. Lin Hao recaptures the championship belt and happily marries Chen Bing.
