Thirty-year-old Pei Zhaoning says goodbye to the city and returns to her rural hometown in the countryside. The village's small red potatoes, ordinary in appearance and difficult to sell fresh, spark her entrepreneurial idea of making handmade sweet potato vermicelli. She humbly learns traditional craftsmanship from neighbor Xia Guizhi, follows her father to select premium potato tubers, and polishes every step of the process from washing and crushing, starch sedimentation, dough kneading and noodle pressing, to sun-drying. During the production process, machinery experiences a minor breakdown, and fellow townsman Tang Yichuan steps in to help debug it. After the first batch of vermicelli is made, Pei Zhaoning conducts only small-batch trial sales, heading to the town's agricultural product exchange point to receive customer inspection and garner positive feedback.
