Su Chi, a disciple of Wangxian Peak, accidentally discovers the truth: the so-called ascension is not becoming an immortal, but being caught as prey by a giant fishhook belonging to a mysterious celestial fisherman. Witnessing his master being dragged away, Su Chi looks for alternative countermeasures without directly exposing the truth. He studies spiritual culinary arts, cooking food that does not enhance cultivation, to divert his fellow disciples' obsession with ascending. Winning over the workaholic senior brother Lu Yuan with food, the two form an alliance. At the sect's debate convention, a bowl of heart-soothing clear noodle soup makes all practitioners let go of their obsession with ascension. They also find warnings left by ancient predecessors, completing the truth preserved for future generations.
