Rural young man Li Daniu carries heavy debts because of his father's injury, and faces endless harassment and scheming from the ungrateful village bully Wang Dafa. Relying on ancestral traditional agricultural techniques, he successfully overcomes severe crises such as water shortages, insect plagues, frosts, and poisoning. He also fights against capitalist rogues and polluting enterprises, leading neighboring villages to develop yellow peach and winter jujube industries, breaking through via deep processing, and leading the villagers toward collective poverty alleviation and prosperity.
