Modern CEO Chen Guo time-travels to become an ancient paralyzed peasant woman, binding with the Famine Exchange System. Relying on modern wisdom and system supplies, she leads her filial second son Shen Laoshi, daughter-in-law Lin Xiulian, and their family in making food and doing business to resolve the famine crisis. She slaps the harsh eldest branch in the face, rescues and nurtures granddaughters Shen Erya and Shen Xiaobao to success, gets imperial rewards for her business, and moves the whole family to town to become the wealthiest household. She raises her three sallow and thin cubs to be plump and healthy, slaps harsh relatives in the face, and stages a comeback from a broken thatched cottage to a rich household stocked with fresh vegetables and grain, supporting a warm and lively farming family life amidst the famine.
