After his father's death, Su Yang, along with his mother Liu Shi and younger sister Su Nini, was stripped of everything and separated from the Su family, ending up with only a dilapidated thatched cottage at the foot of the mountain and a rotten hunting bow. The moment Su Yang killed his first grey rat, he awakened the ability to explode entries, gaining a skill for every beast he killed. Relying on this, he hunted wild boars, fought black bears, searched for rare medicinal herbs, cooperated with Gu Yunlan to run a mountain goods business, and repeatedly thwarted the frame-ups of Su Mancang's family and various villains. Later, he formed a mountain-foraging team, outwitted poachers, served as a forest ranger, led a provincial inspection team into Tiankeng Ridge, and developed the Houtouteling green planting base, ultimately leading Kaoshan Village to common prosperity.
