Su Lan has been financially exploited for years by her mother, Su Qin, and her adopted younger brother, Su Yaozu. Su Qin tricks Su Lan into covering enormous expenses by deliberately transferring amounts that are one or two digits short. At Su Yaozu's engagement banquet, Su Lan fights back with funeral money, exposing the family's scam. With the help of Lawyer Xu, Su Lan subsequently gathers evidence and uncovers the truth about Su Qin's attempt to murder Su's father, her embezzlement of compensation money from a mining disaster, and her secret illegitimate son, Su Xiaobao. Using legal means, Su Lan sends Su Qin, Su Yaozu, Su Daqiang, and the others to prison one by one. Ultimately, she avenges her father and begins a new life.
