In a northern mountain village in the nineties, rural electrician Sun Mingliang strictly followed his mother's entrustment, perennial at flat rates or even subsidizing villagers for wiring and repairing electricity, yet was instigated by Guo Guixiang to be misunderstood by the whole village as "black-hearted price-gouging", and villagers successively dismantled their own circuits. Guo Dayong cut off the whole village's main line causing a New Year's Eve blackout, and after the truth came to light the whole village felt remorseful. Sun Mingliang let bygones be bygones and braved the snow to rush repairs, resuming electricity for every household on the sixth day of the lunar new year, finally being hired by the township power supply station, leaving behind a circuit map to guard one side of brightness.
