Shen Chengzao, a village banquet chef, is publicly humiliated by villager Qian Guangcai for insisting on food quality and reasonable price increases. Furious, he locks up his kitchen and leaves the village to take a job with a catering company in the city. Facing resistance from those pushing inferior pre-made dishes within the company, Shen Chengzao challenges them to a blind taste test, defeating the industrial production line with freshly prepared, delicious food.
