How smart can you really be at farming? That's what everyone in the village thought when they drove Su Mingyuan away. A PhD in agriculture, he returns to his hometown only to be jointly ostracized by Village Chief Liu Fugui and the fake expert known as Wang. His father becomes ill from the stress, and Su Mingyuan is forced out of the village. Moving to Qingshan Village, he achieves tremendous success by scientifically cultivating strawberries, selling them for 20 yuan per jin. Meanwhile, in Hewan Village, blind faith in chemical fertilizers and pesticides ruins the farmland and leaves everyone suffering losses. The fake expert runs away, and the entire village kneels and begs Su Mingyuan to return. He sets three conditions and exposes the truth about Liu Fugui's kickbacks. He then leads the two villages in working together to restore the soil and improve the land, ultimately bringing in a bumper harvest. The land never lies. Treat it well, and it will reward you with a bountiful harvest.
