In 1982, Lin Zhenhai, a decorated veteran, is reborn and activates the Sea Soul System. Refusing to let his biased mother seize his military discharge pay, he resolutely separates from his family and moves with his wife and daughter to the treacherous Ghost Gate Reef. With the system's help, he dives for precious seafood, discovers agarwood from an ancient sunken ship, and earns enough to build a home and settle down. His greedy birth family repeatedly comes to seize his belongings, but Lin Zhenhai fights back without hesitation. He goes fishing, heroically rescues passengers from a stricken passenger ship, secures official permits for tidal flats and diesel fuel, and repeatedly clashes with ruthless dockside bully Liang Yaoxiang. Meanwhile, he must also deal with relatives who take turns extorting him and protect his wife's reputation.
