After two consecutive years of drought in the Great Jing, famine spreads and the flames of war engulf Liaodong. Su He, a logistics officer from the post-apocalyptic world, unexpectedly finds herself transmigrated into the body of a servant girl condemned to slavery and is sent to a military household as a wife. While the other condemned women try desperately to impress the soldiers and secure the best husbands, she only cares about feeling safe. At first glance, she chooses Xiao Zheng, the strongest and most muscular hundred-household commander. He coldly refuses: "I don't need a wife. Just give me the grain reward! I can't afford to feed her, and I don't have time to look after anyone." She answers frankly and confidently: "I don't need you to look after me. I can farm, cook, and manage a household. You're strong. I'll be safe with you." Before getting a wife, Xiao Zheng thinks women are nothing but trouble. But once he has Su He, he holds her in his arms every night.
